Introduction
Snackbyte Games ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website snackbytegames.com (the "Site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Site and use our support form. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site.
Information We Collect
We collect information through our support form on the Site, which includes:
- Personal Information: Your name and email address when you submit the support form.
- Message Content: Any information you provide in the message field of the support form.
Note: Our game, Crash Diet Simulator, does not collect or transmit any personal information.
Game Save Data
Crash Diet Simulator stores a small save file on your own device containing your high score and your audio and display settings. This file contains no personal information and is never sent to us.
If you play through Steam and have Steam Cloud enabled, Valve may sync that save file to your Steam account so it is available on your other devices. That synchronization is performed by Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy. We do not have access to it.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected through the support form for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- To communicate with you regarding your submission.
- To improve our services and user experience.
Third-Party Service: Formspree
Our support form uses Formspree, a third-party service, to process form submissions and send them to our email address ([email protected]). When you submit the form:
- Your data (name, email, message) is sent to Formspree's servers.
- Formspree forwards the data to us via email.
- Formspree may temporarily store your submission data as part of its service.
Formspree's privacy practices are governed by its own Privacy Policy, which you can review at https://formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. We recommend reviewing their policy to understand how they handle your data.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except as described below:
- Formspree: As noted, we use Formspree to process form submissions.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to comply with a legal process (e.g., court order, subpoena).
Data Retention
We retain your personal information (name, email, message) only for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, typically no longer than 6 months after resolving your request. Formspree may retain data according to its own retention policies, as outlined in its Privacy Policy.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Objection: Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes.
- Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format (GDPR).
- Opt-Out of Sales: Under the CCPA, you can opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your data, so this right does not apply.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within 30 days (or 45 days for CCPA requests, with a possible 45-day extension if needed).
Data Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including secure hosting on DigitalOcean App Platform and Formspree's security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) and Formspree operate. We ensure that Formspree complies with GDPR requirements for international data transfers (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses). If you are in the EU, you can request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.
